Seen at Paradise Bird Farm in Scottsdale, AZ. Thought you guys might like to see him. He's healthy and might be pairing off with a female Gambles.

I have a dusty old mounted pair of Bobwhite x Valley Quail hybrids and they look similar. They hatched from eggs that were supposed to be Valley Quail, but . . . OOPS!
The seller had a huge flight cage with several pairs of Valley Quail, and he was selling their eggs at a game bird auction. In his quail pen was also ONE male Bobwhite.
He hadn't given it much thought, but over half of the eggs that he sold that season hatched into hybrids. Apparently his Bobwhite male was a frisky little devil!

Cool little guy. Unfortunately he will be sterile. Hybrids usually are unable to reproduce.

That is an amazing looking quail. I've seen hybrid ducks, geese, and pheasants, but never quail. Cool!
