George...how funny would it be for someone to photo-shop a big " I love Hillary " sign at his driveway in his avatar. He asked me to be deleted from my "friends" group emails. Didn't want to read any facts about the Democrats...lol. ::)

  2. Hey I feel you pain bro! I got hit with a $11.47 S&H Fee for one single Riffler File that I only needed at the time badly!
You can bet your batootie that I won't ever just order 1 single small item like that itself again! Like it REALLY costed THAT much to ship that 1 small file via USPS or UPS that weighed about 2 ounces? Gimme a break! I wish there was some other supplier that I knew of with much more reasonable shipping fee's. Perhaps Revolution may be...
I started to look, shop and buy some of my goods on eBay at even better prices with FREE shipping - such as 25# of Potter's Clay for $24 with FREE S&H, 100 #22 Scalpel Blades and Scalpel Handle for $8.90! I bought 4 ea Victorinox 3.25" Paring Knife Spear Point Small Black With Clam Pack 47600 for $16.08 + $3.65 S&H Fee! A Wiebe Beaver Knife 4 1/4" Great Knife for Fleshing Beaver & Fish - $14.95 with FREE S&H as well!

    It pays to shop!

  3. Prime example!

    Apoxie® Sculpt - 1# Black. Brand new on eBay - $20.85 with FREE 4-day S&H!
I buy a lot on eBay for my taxidermy needs with superb results! Potters Clay, Scalpel Blades, Pins, Skinning Knives, Bostitch Staples - all brand new and 99% of the time with FREE SHIPPING!
I save a lot of money that way! Have to!

Exactly Hunter Archery. As long as someone is willing to take it in the rear, someone will give it.
Its so funny that the business guru's on here say raise your prices then someone write s a tutorial in another section on how to "reclaim" one of the cheapest items in taxidermy............Potters clay!!!! Are you freakin kidding me? As some say time is money! Now buy a cheese grater and get at it, lol???
    Seems a bit hyporitical.

  5. Well I contacted McKenzie about socking it to me with that $11.47 UPS shipping charge for 1 mere RIFFLER FILE and told them that if that is how they were going to conduct business with outrageous prices and such - I'd begin (and have already begun) buying as much as I could on eBay for the SAME THING with greatly reduced or FREE S&H or I'd find another taxidermy vendor to do business with. That's BS - $11.47 for ONE maybe 4 ounce box of ONE file? Lord God!

They agreed to credit my account $9.00 for that order. Odd isn't it - that they can afford to credit me $9 BACK on S&H? Which tells me I was WAY overcharged for S&H in the FIRST PLACE!

Revolution is one of the highest on " extra " shipping fees, if not the highest. Also the poorest I've dealt with as far as getting orders correct. After 5 years of screwed up orders, over paying for shipping and products, a screwed up discount policy, a " Revolution glue sticker " placed over a Roman 555 label on 5 gallons of glue then charged $165 dollars for what I could have bought down the road at Sherwin Williams for $85 dollars, and a whole list of short comings to long to type out for fear of typer's cramp, I don't deal with them unless it's completely unavoidable...

On the bright side, I do think they offer speedy now , but you better ask em' for it.

  7. I ordered a small rock and a set of bobcat eyes...Shipping was $33.50 I called them up and asked why it was so much and they ended up refunded me about 1/2. They separated my order and shipping on the bobcat eyes was like $13 through UPS. she said if i would have selected the regular usps it would have cost $1.50 for shipping. I told her if I order any thing else through them I will just call it in to make sure i can get the best shipping deal.

Every time I had shipping issues I addressed it with them and received a credit. If they were right and I was wrong they would not have credit you or I anything, just goes to show when confronted they charge the CORRECT amount. You should not have to chase them to get your money back........

  9. Agreed! That's Highway Robbery IMHO and just plain taking advantage of someone as well. Not very good business practices the way I see it.

Looking at other suppliers at this time if every time I place a order with them I have to SPECIFY in the comment section 'Ship cheapest way.'

That's BS. You mean to tell me no one there thought that $11.47 was OUTRAGEOUS for shipping ONE (1) FILE?

  10. Yikes! Think I'll stick with McKenzie then no matter what!
    WOW that sure sucks!
I sure won't be buying from Revolution then!

    Don't be fooled.

You didn't get free shipping just ask George...even though you saved $16 + shipping...so if that was all you ordered you saved approx $30 total $$...HOWEVER...shipping was NOT FREE, they figured it in their bottom line.

    Understand?? :D

I'm not sure how this happens because I've had good luck with Mckenzie. NOW GRANTED, I live an hour from them.

But yesterday I needed to order three sets of eyes. That's it. That's a big no-no for me, I won't normally order just a few tiny items because I'm afraid of being hit with these so called high shipping charges for a small item.

I asked them to ship the cheapest way, and they shipped them in a tiny USPS manilla envelope for a total of $2.50 s/h. I can live with that!

It cost me $120 to ship 2 McKenzie boxes to Idaho from MN, I know I didn't pay even half that to get those boxes of forms and supplies here from McKenzie. Shipping is expensive...... Figure it in your prices.....

  14. I'v never been hit with what I would consider outrageous shipping charges from Mckenzie but I always put in the notes to ship cheapest carrier. I'v gotten Mckenzie shipments from every shipping company depending on what I'v ordered.

A back ordered item from Tackle Warehouse...Box 6x8x4.. 1 item pack of (2) hooks. They stuffed the box with paper and laid the item on top. ;D
I have a question for the shipping guru's....This is straight off their website- Guaranteed Lowest Prices-Free Ground shipping on orders over $50.- $5 2-Day shipping on orders over $50. - $10 overnight shipping on orders over $50.

I took advantage of the "free shipping". My questions- If I ordered less than $50, say only $47 and it wasn't free. Am I paying for shipping twice?
Also, if they guarantee the lowest prices and I pay more somewhere else. Did I pay for shipping that I didn't receive ? Sounds like theft. ;)

You can't beat Tackle Warehouse shipping. $5 for 2 day. Thats service.

This isn't a Mckenzie deal but my wife ordered two pairs of scrub pants from Amazon. They came in a box that was 24"x18"x16". Honestly the could have put another 50 pairs of pants in there no problem. Unbelievable really

George The older I get, the better I was.

Businesses actually make a living by "taking advantage" of the customer. If any of you see my Taxi-Tuk tool in the WASCO catalog, you'll see that its nothing more than wire on a file handle. Let me tell you about that file handle. I went to Lowes looking to find a local source for those Lutz handles. When I finally found them at one store, they were $2.50 each. Well, the tool sells for $10 but I have to give a 40% discount to the buyers wholesale. When you add wire, packaging and postage, you're not making enough to buy a soda with that pricing. I went to Ace Hardware. They don't carry Lutz but they did have CHEAP red plastic handles that were $1.50 for two. I just didn't want to use plastic as most of us would shatter that crap after a few uses. On a lark, I tried calling Lutz only to find they no longer exist. The name was taken over by a small New England millwork company that does, however, continue making various sizes and types of ash wood tool handles. I spoke to the lady and she said that she could sell them to me for $1..25, but if I could use a dozen, she'd sell them to me for $7.80. I told her I'd actually like to buy 12 dozen of them. She then told me that any order over a dozen got a larger discount and that she could sell me the files at 35 cents each ($50.40 for a gross) INCLUDING SHIPPING (Notice, she never said "free shipping", she said INCLUDING shipping. So did I stop going to Lowes? Not likely. But you need to know that if you buy a Lutz file handle there, Lowes is making $2.15 on every 35 cent file handle.
