sharp tail grouse question

    I have only seen sharptails in the wild in North Dakota a couple of times.

    Question, do they ever sit in "brush" similar to how a ruffed grouse would be seen perched up on some smaller branches?

    Other than flying , all the sharptails I saw out there were on the ground or on top of a round bale.

    Here in Montana, I've seen them perched in bushes , trees on the roofs of houses in town and my favorite lined up on the telephone and electric wires. LOL

    Yes they do , I hunt sharptails every year, I shoot them sitting in brush, sitting on bails, fence posts, rocks, sitting in trees, on the ground, flush them in the air, and I have mounted them in all these positions.

    Yes, they will roost in trees, even prairie chickens will roost in trees.
