Let me start with I DO NOT HAVE A NORTHERN FLICKER IN MY POSSESSION. I was contacted by a customer who saw the bird run into a glass window and died. They called the Game Warden was told that as long as they are not selling it, they could bring it to a taxidermist to be mounted, no permit needed. I called with a followup and was told I didn't need any permit or paperwork to mount it as long as it wasnt illegally obtained. Anyone out there have any experience with mounting these birds and what the actual truth is? I do not feel that the game warden knew what he was talking about and that this is a bad situation to put myself in.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  2. Pretty sure they can't be mounted for personal use. Need to go to museum, school, etc.

  3. It's my understanding that this person is breaking the law by even picking it up. I wouldn't touch it without PAPERWORK in hand.
