I've mentioned before that I think this should be a topic, so I'm going to start one. I've been doing a little research to see how my project is showing up on internet searches and ran across some great stuff. I imagine most of these have been mentioned somewhere on the forum at some point, but I'm hoping this will be a new home for all media that includes taxidermy in some fashion. I think it'll be a handy place to keep these references and someone will hopefully find it useful and entertaining. Over the past few years, I've learned that taxidermists are very aware, if not overly sensitive, of the way they are portrayed to the public. And many of them love to waste time on the internet! So let the fun begin... Here's an interesting, well-made short called Animal Control by Kire Paputts. It played at TIFF a few years ago (that's a very fantsy-pants film festival in Toronto, one of the biggins): https://vimeo.com/65557473 I hadn't heard about this one, but then I don't have kids. We all know there are some hot taxidermists, many frequent this forum (I'm not talking about you, Michael P.). But there's one in this movie that could give the taxinet girls a run for their money. Of course, she gets several million dollars for each movie she's in. And probably the same for some 30 second commercials! She does look good in a snakeskin jumpsuit. http://paddington-movie.com/ There's a really great one about Frank Newmyer that has never been released, called Still Life. Someone posted this animated short here on the forum a while back. Le Taxidermiste. I love it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNUls-OnQY0 There's bound to be at least one more out sometime soon! 8) Please contribute more links and anecdotes to this thread if you can.
