We've posted about it and read about it a million times and today I'm making it a million and one. Just ordered Rick Carters A-Z Wild Boar Mount DVD and I'm about 20 minutes in and I'm already loving the video. That being said I ordered it stand alone from Mckenzies two days ago and just did the remedial math. The DVD was about 21$ and I just saw the shipping charge! 17$ to ship the dvd!!!

I thought I had a grasp on the concept...heavy packages, multiple packages, big packages I can understand the charges. The dvd was neither a large box or a small heavy box so now I am just totally confused haha. The video ended up costing me 40$. A 40$ dvd is crazy. Soooo there's my rant and I know no one has an answer to this mathematical phenomenon but it feels good to vent.....

Can't believe you don't know the answer to this one! Haven't you read the other threads? This isn't a Mckenzie problem, it's a you problem! If you were a competent business man, you would have a complete list of everything you need, forgetting nothing, and only order when you have $1000+ orders truck shipped.

If you by chance HAPPEN to be one of the 90% of taxidermist out there who only go through $1000 or two of supplies a year, well, you're sol until next year.

If you don't like that- well you can do business with one one the other....wait...they don't carry Rick's videos.

Ok, ok, I've got it, you need to ask them to mail it to you in a media envelope for $1.50, you know, like you have to do with all the other mail order companies you do business....wait a minute...I never have to ask for that!

Ok, I've got it this time! Weigh it, measure it, and check to see how much it would cost to send it back. I'm sure you'll find that it's the same. Your not being gouged, just the cost of doing business.....

    See! Simple! No confusion here!

Jared I know that your response is peppered with sarcasm haha. I don't know who it's geared towards, so I'm taking it in humor. I'm not blaming McKenzies, product comes in usually within 2 days after I order something which is awesome. I've read or seen or browsed tons of other posts relating to this issue and I've always felt that while the shipping was high I usually order things where it's give and take. I am not a professional taxidermist, I order enough supplies to do a few shoulder mounts here some paints for fish and sometikes a cpl full bodies mounts for friends and family. I'm not blaspheming McKenzies, this is just the first time I've experienced the differential so blatantly.

Glad you figured my post wasn't for you! Lol! If you read the last thread, you'll see I took your post as an opportunity to machine gun the silly arguments used to defend Mckenzie's shipping policies. I LOVE Mckenzie! Favorite supplier. I hate this shipping nonsense. I don't like feeling that I need to watch my back with someone I do business with. That being said- when I forget something on my big orders, I ALWAYS ask them for the cheapest option. "Please ship Usps in a media envelop" would have saved you $15. Shame you need to ask for that.

Maybe I'm the only one they ask, but I get asked almost every time I order, "Is UPS ground OK for shipping?" If its something small, I respond "no" ship it usps. Never a problem. They do usually ask the question before I actually place the order (at the onset of the call), but I've never had a problem. If they ask if UPS is ok and you say yes, its not on them. I'm not saying they asked, mind you, but they do ask me pretty much every time.

That's why I love this forum, I came here to rant a little and blow off some steam and in return I'm actually learning useful information. Like I stated I'm not a professional taxidermist so my orders are probably minimal compared to alot of the folks on here, but I usually order via online and didn't even know I can request USPS or a smaller media package!! I wish I had known because I do forget little things here or there and then I suffer through not wanting to place a small order..hahaha..Well better late than never. Thanks for the responses and the information!

I always ask for USPS for smaller items. When I go through Research, they automatically send USPS or they will ask if it is OK to ship USPS. My prices reflect the estimated shipping by McKenzie so I don't get riled up about it, I'm pretty part time now and my orders are in the low hundreds, however, when I order for my personal mounts I feel the shipping charge. It's all just business.

If he used perfect grammar and spelling we wouldn't believe it was really him and nobody would reply to his posts. We understand him and do not desire him to change a bit!

Buck, I aint driving. Forget that! What is it like 20 hours?

That would be a great concert. I have seen Joan Jett and saw Heart as the Lovemongers and as Heart, however, Cheap Trick is one of my favorites and I have never seen them live, only on you tube.
