For all Minnesota taxidermists or any taxidermists full time part time or hobbyist. If you're interested in winning taxidermy awards and prize money then read on. Once again we are holding a taxidermy competition this year out at Game Fair. Taxidermists that enter can win awards and money for your taxidermy work . It is at the Armstrong Ranch in Ramsey MN near Anoka. www.gamefair.com The competition runs two weekends. August 12,13,14 and August 19,20,21.

Mounts must be on display both weekends. It is a People's Choice Awards , judged by the public. Taxidermists are urged to bring as many pieces as you'd like. Anyone attending Game Fair can stop by the art barn and vote for their favorite mount brought in by local taxidermists. With the People's Choice Award we hope to inspire more taxidermists to let their creativity flow and put together some pretty amazing pieces.
In order to better their chances at winning top honors and a nice monetary awards as well you will need to make the mount a piece that will catch the eye of the public. Mounts that were entered in other competitions are eligible.

This competition also raises money for the USSA. www.childswish.org. The money raised helps grant outdoor wishes to children with disabilities and life threatening illnesses. The money also helps grant wishes to out injured veterans. Please bring mounts to win money and show your support for the charity.
You can't lose at the competition when you enter. It's FREE. There are no fees. When you compete you will automatically get 2 FREE passes into the Game Fair Show plus multiple chances at winning award ribbons and money.

This competition is open to any and all taxidermists of all levels and there is no entry fees as stated above. It's up to the general public to decide which mount they like the best. If the mount is an eye catching piece then you have a great chance at winning. It will be first second third over all combining all categories. The categories are deer and game head, - birds, - fish , - lifesize mammals.
    1st place is $400 and a 1st place People's Choice ribbon.
    2nd place is $200 and a 2nd place People's Choice ribbon.
    3rd place is $100 and a 3rd place People's Choice ribbon.
You can also win ribbons and money in the 4 categories. Deer/game head, birds, fish, life-size mammal. There will be a 1st, 2nd 3rd in each category as well . 1st place is $75 and a ribbon, 2nd place is $50 and a ribbon and 3rd is $25 and a ribbon.
You can only win one award with each mount unless there are no other entries in that category. You would also have to receive at least one vote. If you win one of the top 3 People Choice awards over all then the the next mount in line with the most votes in that category gets the 1st place award in that category.
Like I said before by entering you already won by getting 2 free entrance gate pass for Game Fair. Bring your mounts and win some money. We look forward to seeing you there.
Registration and mount drop off is on Thursday August 11, Between 3:30 and 7:30 pm. Contact Dean if other arrangements are needed to be made.

The USSA www.childswish.org receives a donation from Game Fair to run the event. If you'd also like to make a donation to help grant outdoor wishes to critically ill and disabled children and returning injured military then contact me at the above phone or email. The USSA is 100% volunteer based 501-c3 charity. 100% of any money the USSA receives goes directly into helping the sick and disabled children and injured vets.
I hope to see a lot of taxidermists out there. I'd like to keep this competition going for the taxidermists and especially for the kids and vets. Thank you for your time and good luck.

What a terrific opportunity to engage the general public's attention on the art of taxidermy. Beyond any prizes and ribbons participating taxidermists might win, just being part of an event that supports a childwish program is the kind of worthy endeavor that connects in the hearts and minds of people. And one day some taxidermist might say his interest in the art started as a child the day he saw all the mounts at the Gamefair event at the Armstrong Ranch in Ramsey, Minnesota.

Your personal efforts in promoting such an endeavor is what gives taxidermists a good name. Thanks for alerting everyone.
