Sorry if there is an old thread on this, but I was curious to what everyone's average shave times were.
I shaved a few mule deer yesterday, and I was averaging between 5-7 minutes per cape. I get them very thin, including ears, eyes, nostrils etc. Doesn't leave much secondary prep to do other than touch ups and trimming lids. Elk are taking between 15-22 minutes depending on size/thickness.

Holy Hannah, I take a lot longer than that, but I am new to shaving capes. If I could get it down to twice that I would be very happy.

  3. I'm about 20 minutes on a deer cape. Another 10 min to do final prep around eyes, nose, lips.
