Hello everyone. It is amazing how time flies. Another month has come and gone. I will start off BOTM with a incoming drake mallard. Take care, Paul.

What on Gods green earth is that thing? I consider myself pretty good at waterfowl ID...I have no clue what that is! Canada/Speck mix? Thought immature swan at first...either way, one of the more interesting goose lookalike I have ever seen!

bfd, if you were asking me about my goose. It was what I believe to be a grey leg hybrid, most likely a farmyard escapee.

I guess those things happen...had a buddy shoot a Muscovy (in flight) near Glenwood and I shot a black scoter near Glenwood that same year. I guess variety really is the spice of life!

    beautiful work shown here again,
Paul, clean and perfect as allways
Evgeniy, everytime a pleasure to see your absolutely perfect mounts, stunning shrike and azur-winged magpies, I love them
doublegun, I like the blue-winged teal in the retriever mouth, cool peace
    3bears, interesting goose, I think it is a hybrid, isn´t it ?
after a long time, I will offer you two mounts for a good breeder friend, a jackdaw and a barbary partridge

That looks like a juvie swan goose.
    Was probably a pen escapee.
Size, base color and bill shape match at least.
Adults will have a brown back side of their neck and white feather ring around the bill.

Aubrey that was the other hybrid I was thinking when I was trying to figure out what it was. The best I could guess was a grey leg/swan goose mix. I used a small canadian goose form, if I remember correctly it matched the carcass well and I cast the head and bill. I'm not sure about immature status though, it had very few pin feathers. It was interesting any way and the customer loved it.

Awesome job on the Blue wing teal . . . . Having that wing bent backwards, eyelid closed and the overall positioning of the bird. That's the details that separate good from great mounts. Once again great job.
