I live in Mexico and want to compete in some US shows. I see a lot of Canadian bird taxidermists coming to shows in the US with their birds. Of course, I've tried for over a year to find out how to do this but cannot get anyone at customs to give me a straight answer. I think if it was Canada - no problem, but Mexico is different. Any thoughts or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

USDA–APHIS regulations allow for the unrestricted entry of FULLY
taxidermy finished trophies. Fully taxidermy finished trophies have been
professionally cleaned (free from dirt, blood, insects, putrid odors, etc.) and
processed. Fully taxidermy finished trophies have been professionally
prepared (may be stuffed and/or mounted) for the purpose of personal
exhibition. Look for evidence of professional cleaning and processing. If
unable to determine if the trophy has been fully taxidermy finished, regulate
the trophy as not fully taxidermy finished. If fully taxidermy finished trophies
are shipped with not fully taxidermy finished trophies (unfinished), regulate
the entire consignment as not fully taxidermy finished trophies.
