How much Horse power for a Flesher ?

    Hi.
    I have a old dakota 3 flesher that i run with a 220v 1hp motor.
    Is running like that for years but i think that it is wasting too much energy. can i change it for a 1/2 Hp? Will i loose much in speed and force?

    How much Hp do you use in your Fleshing machines?

    I have a quarter horse on a Dakota IV and it does fine. I have done bears, elk, deer, fox, coyotes on it with no problems.

    sory , but my machine is way bigger than Dakota IV. Is more like dakota V. Thanks , anyway.
