The yellow perch I am working on turned out more gold then yellow and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to "brighten" this up a little. I hit it with some citrus pearl ex and it helped but still not the yellow I am looking for.

    Thanks

I paint my yellow perch with a irredescent gold base and then go over that with gill red and bright yellow mixed so it looks like a very light orange in the color cup. For the perch I raise it's spot on.

  5. Adding scale tipping with powders could be another option, to add the desired color. The perch i have caught from the central basin of lake Erie, have a green tint with a little blue, as shown below.

  6. I've used pan pastel yellow ochre sponged on over my golds to get a more yellow look.

  7. Interestingly, l found this pic of two 12" Perch caught from a pond in n.e
Ohio. What caught my eye was the 10 bars on the top perch...
