This has probably been beat to death, but, I have a red fox that one of the ears has a slip spot on the back side. What would be a good fix for this? I almost always use stop rot on fox ears no matter what and this time I just forgot.....thanks

  2. You can do a transplant using the ear on a scrap fox skin :) http://www.taxidermy.net/forum/index.php/topic,236370.0.html

Had the same problem with Gray Foxes. The ears slipped and look terrible. I haven't found any replacement capes yet.
Check out Brain Hendrix's Thaw with pickle,, I have done this with some bobcats and have not had any slippage problems. I got another gray fox in that I thaw in the pickle and so far there has been no slippage, but I just case skinned and repickled so far, Will let you know how it works out on the fox.
