Anyone got a good method for cleaning the fat and such out of the wire wheel.

I asked this same question a few years ago and couldn't believe the simplicity of the answer. Run a piece of wood on it and it will remove all the dried gunk off of it.

I use water/peroxide/Dawn mix in a spray bottle to periodically clean the wheel and box. Spray it on and let it sit for a little while before wiingnit off with paper towels

if you've got a bunch of "fibers" wrapped up in it, another wire brush(I use the pipe fitting cleaning type) against your spinning wheel works wonders
