What is the best position to dry a hanging dead turkey mount...upright or inverted? When bird is hanging upside down it looks like a big ball of feathers??

I don't know who did this but it's far from a ball of feathers.

Them are great pictures Dan!! Thanks for sharing! A lot of dead mounts look too "stiff" in my opinion. A tougher mount to pull off than people think!!

As expected, we noticed while hunting that there is quite a difference in "a ball of feathers" depending on how soon one hangs a recently harvested bird. Perhaps artistic license also comes into play and what judges are looking for in the mount if you are competing.

Hanging dead mount sounded like an easy task to nail down...wrong.This is the 3rd attempt for me and every time It seems like gravity really works on your bird if you hang it upside down to dry...anyone have any advice I sure could use it...Not wanting to have the ball of feathers look if you know what I mean...
