2017 What's on Your Workbench

    Thanks Nate, no, it is a SD bird, I have 2 MN customer's chickens to do that aren't as nice but, of course he wants them dancing.

    trick with hoodies is to anchor the ears first...glue or pin.....then you can fill and groom(you dont taxi)

    Byrdman, I didn't use anything in those heads. No caulk no filler,no clay. I did not anchor the ears either. The first one turned out kind wavy, and I think it's cause I pulled up on the hood. Kept grabbing it at the tips of the hood feathers and pulling up and forward. The second one I used a pin to "taxi" or move the skin forward and down on each side of the base of the hood until the top line got nice and crisp. Then I just left it to dry.

    Like I said, I haven't done but 3 and my first was a couple years ago. I'm always open to trying new techniques, if what I'm doing isn't working. But, at least on this one, it worked.

    Thanks guys. I had my doubts about the juvenile snow but it turned out ok.

    This guy got snatched up by my fleshing wheel and was taken for a spin, Luckily I had a cold beer in the fridge and lots of sewing thread... God is good! Photo attached
