Saaweet pintail, Brooke!
Can I ask what clear plastic you're using under your clips, or is that top secret stuff that you can't divulge?
will mount it later to a piece of wood, leaves,...?
nice owl, but has to return to it's owner....
Both of those are really nice! Good job.
Tom, no secret. It's transparency sheets. Like for a projector. A box of 50 costs like 35$...But I reuse mine. I've had that box for 3 years and it's only half gone. It lets me see the feathers and it keeps the clips from making indentions.
Thanks for the compliment on the Pintail. Customer requested that I leave the iron staining and it drove me nuts making the breast all chunky looking. I copied the pose from a Pintail that Spencer2 posted on here a year or so ago.
Thanks, Brooke. I wanna try em. Exactly why I was curious... they're see through and appeared to be firm enough to stand up to a fastener!
Man how your work has improved. That's not a back handed compliment, either. Your work was nice back when.
Thanks Tom. I've definitely been practicing. Got quite a few gift birds this year and am trouble shooting problem areas with them.
The transparency sheets work great. They will fold for going over wings and you can cut them any shape. Make sure you "round the edges", keeps them from sliding in between feathers. Also, I don't usually put them on (except for under the paperclips at the end of the wings) until day 2 or 3. They don't breathe, so if you have any moisture under them they will sweat.
I wish every customer wanted deadmounts.
Excellent Brooke, I love it!!
Sneak peak , I'll post more as it's put together
I can't wait to see it!
A widgeon destined for a water scene
That's nice Nate. Competition piece I'm guessing ?
Nope, it's not good enough for that. Just a personal piece.
What kind of bird is that?
