I'm about to mount a whitetail my 4th one. I made a couple holes while fleshing. What is the best thread to sew up hole around thin haired spots, like the nose and lip area? What stitch would work best also.?

  3. I use pro1 hide paste and do not sew up small holes. If the cape fits the form properly the paste locks it right down. I simply wipe off any paste that may have pushed through the hole. Larger holes, 1/2" or more, I definitely sew em up.

6 pound fire line with a hidden or whip stich using a tiny needle.

  5. Waxed dental thread, with the baseball stitch.

I use the tiny 4lb Fireline for those kinds of very small repairs on the face. I sew up everything with a whip stitch.
