I think that hair idea looks pretty good too. For all my fins I use place clear packing tape on the backside and coat the front side with modge podge. Once that has dried you can peel the packing tape off the backside and then coat it. The modge podge does not stick to the tape. This works great for pedestal mounts. As long as there is enough bony structure your fine but if there is some missing the fins may curl.

Great idea Ron....will catalog it in my brain's archive.

  3. Thanks JL.
  4. Has anyone used photo paper? it is thick enough and the the fin backing should make it waterproof. When I purchase printer ink I get a pack of the 4 X 6 cannon photo paper.

Frank, I'm surprised you're still using Silesian. Paul Borkowski clued me into using lens cleaning paper. I never went back and I'm not in the same Galaxy as you are with fish.

Repo fins and tails certainly are nice and easy to change out! It's also possible to heat and bend them to give a custom look. I haven't molded my own but if I knew how that would be a super easy solution if you know what you are doing and have a fish to mold available.
