  1. Does anyone have suggest a good tannery for wall hanger hides to be soft tanned? I sent some to one but they have me on an 8 month wait and I feel like that's too long I've been looking up tanneries and found sleepy creek tannery out of Iowa that looked pretty good anyone have any expirence with them?

Rhino Too many irons in the fire will put the fire out!

I don't know the folks, but they look like a good, hard working outfit.

They seem to have some pretty nice equipment also.

Best of luck and success to you Sleepy Creek!

Specialty Leather in Boone, Iowa does an outstanding job. Highly recommend them. Switched from Moyle Mink to Specialty Leather. They used to be strictly leather but for the last 3 years they have been doing hair on soft tanning and their work is phenomenal. They don't do capes though.

Moyle's mink in Idaho garment tan pay extra for 40 day turn around . it is for a wall hanger can't go wrong. even with the extra charge they are still cheaper than most tanneries
