Fixing coyote nose?

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by Cargophora, Apr 20, 2017.

  1. Hi guys! I got this tanned coyote pelt and was wondering what to do about the nose??? Didn't notice it before I purchased them (wasn't obvious in pics woops)...what causes that to happen?
Can I recreate the nose texture or should I buy a replacement nose? And if so how do I know which nose is best to buy and how to go about installing it into the head form?

  2. purchase a replacement nose?

I got a bear back from the tannery with the nose pad totally slipped like yours. I mounted it like normal, put black Apoxie Sculpt over the entire nose pad and textured with a T pin and corse sand paper.

I do the same as Tanglewood. Put on some Apoxie Sculpt and quite often I'll use the stiff bristles on a toothbrush to give it texture. Once it sets, hit it with the air brush and it's not noticeable.
  5. Thanks guys I'll definitely give that a shot!
