Discussion in 'Lifesize Mammals' started by LTB, May 17, 2017.

  1. Hello colleagues
Few months ago got this little creature and wasn't told what exactly it is. Only know that it comes from Canada :-\
Anyone can help with ID this?

Is it a northern flying squirrel? Hard to tell for sure.

Could be a "Parka Squirrel" or what my Inuit friends in Alaska used to tell me about. We never had one come into our Tannery, but it's a possibility! I can't see it relaxed and open so I'm only guessing! Good luck with it! Let us all know if you get an ID on it! I was on a project building a Tannery for the Eskimos only 14 miles from the Arctic Circle when we first opened our Tannery - same latitude maybe! Shishmaref, AK!
  9. Thank you guys for your help! Flying squirrel was my first thought, but the problem is that it doesn't have "patagium" ,membrane between front and back legs (not shown on my photos because it is still frozen) Yesterday was searching for a while and found "bushy tailed woodrat"... Maybe it could be this. I will check next week when will mount it :)
    Thanks again
