Anyone have any tips on how to tan a porcupine? Other than being very careful. Is it even possible? Thankyou!

  2. Use a degreaser to remover the grease from the hide.

Keeping the quills wet when working with it will keep them "softer". And yes, be careful.

I use a wire wheel to flesh them after pickling. They're a bit tougher when pickled. Then degrease , neutralize and tan.
