George The older I get, the better I was.

I just heard that Mr. Bill Haynes passed away this morning. He had suffered a stroke earlier and was being cared for in a facility. Plans are still incomplete.

Mr. Bill, from one NTA past president to another, you were an era unto our industry, your decorum in public was legendary, your energy knew no boundaries and your loyalty was impeccable. Now you can be at that NTA re-union that many of us can only dream about. As you used to say; "How 'bout that!"

Rest in peace now and always.

I met Bill in 1983 at the Georgia Taxidermist Association. His deer shoulder mount took first place and mine took second. This kindled a 40 year friendship. Bill and I hunted, fished, and attended taxidermy conventions together all over the country. Bill was a positive thinking man and was always in it until the end. Nothing fake about Bill, he stood on what he believed. Even though sometimes we disagreed, I always respected this in Bill. Bill and his loving wife, Jean, had the key to everlasting love and happiness. No doubt they were life long soul mates. Pat and I had many good times with them at the shows, and to top it all off, Bill always had a great joke to share. Miss you old buddy.....God Speed..
