Gator hide tannery

    I filled my SC alligator tag this weekend and need some tannery advice? How to, where to, who to etc? As big as it is Im not sure I can afford it but want to look at my options.

    Gongrats on a awesome gator ! Are you just tanning or you mounting it ? use a presser washer to flesh it . Then salt for a few days then roll it up and send it to any reputable tannery that does gators. Wild life gallery , Seminole fur and I to not sure but Carolina fur may do them also .

    Yes sir I just want to tan it for the wall. Nothing more than that.

    when my son got his 10 ft South Carolina gator we let the local taxidermist / tannery do it. they charged 180.00 per foot, $1,800 plus shipping back to Pennsylvania.

    Gators are not cheap.

    I appreciate that and fully aware they wouldnt be cheap. This wasnt my first time dealing with them. Sending to a a tannery in AL, $42/foot. Thanks for the help guys.

    is that for the belly skin, or the whole thing include the back ?

    Thats without the back on it. Under side of head to tip of tail.

    ours was for the complete skin to rug including the back.

    This ones right at 4' wide without the back. I didnt want the back to be included nor do I really have the space for a 4x12. On top of that, I wouldn't pay that much for it.
