I am a few years into my taxidermy business and located in the south. I have a client that wants his moose and caribou antlers mounted on artificial skulls. The skulls are 120 and 70. The chosen hangers are 60 each. Little help on good pricing for the work. Never used artificial skulls before. Skull have ped and are not slotted

Not sure about pricing but I used one for an antelope last year for a family member, it was super white and glossy initially. I took it to my place of work at the time which had a media blast cabinet with well used glassbead media and blasted the whole thing prior to installing the horns...it took all of the shine away and the dirt in the media imparted just enough "colour" to make the plastic look like real bone. Might help you out and make it easier to charge a bit more. Good luck.

I have done a lot of artificial skull mounts (over 100). Most were deer, which I charge $160 for. Bigger animals are $180-200, but my prices will likely go up $20 in January. That price does not include a plaque, which most people want. It only takes me about one-two hours of labor to do a deer. Keep in mind though that the skull will need to be painted. I airbrush them with pure white. If not, then they will yellow very badly in just a couple years.
