shrinkage around eyes

Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by 1tahr, Dec 17, 2017.

  1. hi ive been noticing on some of my mounts far to much shrinkage around the eyes, I thin the eyelid and surrounding skin as much as I can I also pin , unfortunately I cant always watch my mounts dry as I work another job away from home , I was wondering if an instant bonding glue might be an answer , I don't seem to have this problem in the winter months as mounts dry much slower any suggestions.

Bag it for a couple days to slow down the drying time. Others might have more suggestions.

I have found wet tans seem to pull more, since I've switched to dry tans a few years back, skin stays put.

I place a damp rag over the face of the deer and put a plastic grocery bag over the face and rag. I usually do this for about 2 to 3 days, making sure the rag is damp every day.
  5. Do you remove the oil glands from the eyelids?
