Got a mink in a live trap and he got away by bitting into and severing one of the steel wires! I know it was a mink because he left some of his fur behind. (See picture below) I've trapped a lot of muskrat out of my ponds but am new to trapping mink and this one is a monster (I've seen him twice). I have had several 110 conibears tripped too. (Although I can't be sure those are all due to mink). Here's a picture of the cage and the damage. To the left of the fur is the hole facing down (also was dug out into the ground ) and to the left of that is a bulge facing out which means it was the mink not another animal trying to get in at the mink. Perhaps no surprise to those of you that have more experience with mink but this surprised me.
