Brooke, at least it isn’t in a complex pose.
I know the struggle of being on the short side, I’m only 5’4” and I shot a swan last year and was something else to walk it back a mile to the truck. I still have it in the freezer in case I get a wild hair to try to mount it.
    Great work on it!

Looks pretty nice Brooke. I have not got to my buddies and my own swan yet, been skinning 5 cranes and 2 canadas. After these not sure I care to do another big bird and even told them if your bird is in this batch ill do it if you choose to go later ill pry turn it away.

Debating on doing my 2 cranes and swan as a dead mount to simplify things. 2 cranes will be bust mounts.

Barred owl on the bench this weekend. It's going to be catching a wood rat (doing the rat today). One of two for a new exhibit in SF opening this summer.

I don't find them too hard. Actually, I have only ever mounted one and it was a resting pose, so that wasn't an issue. When those buggers leave this part of the world, you can't tell the drakes form the hens so people don't pay to have em mounted. They're just early season bag fillers.

Nowhere near Miss Brooke's hoodie but he's coming along. Needs to tighten up so I can adjust some of the feather patterns. He's going to be swimming with the hen underwater fishing

Here's Grandma. By far the worst skin I've ever mounted. Solid pinfeatherd from the shoulders forward.
