Antler repair

Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by Jwhargro, Feb 6, 2018.

  1. I've got a couple of white-tail racks that need some tine repair. In the past I've used apoxie sculpt(flesh tone) but had a hard time matching the color up. After painting and staining several times I was able to achieve color. Is there an easier way to do this? Is there a better apoxie out there that is all white or closer to the antler color?

I remember seeing some posts on the "tutorials" section that seemed to be helpful.

I use white Apoxie Sculpt but color does not really mater since I paint it over with off white lacquer first, then mist with brown and black until the color matches matches. Then I go over it with acrylic brown and black paint applying it with a rag and brushes until the desired result it attained. A final clear coat with Krylon flat finishes it.

  5. Thanks, I picked up supplies today. Gonna give it a go.

Fixit has an off white color. Best epoxy for antler repair in my opinion.
