I've never had a issue with poor packing with McKenzie. Maybe they hired some idiot temp that day? A lot of corps are going to temps to cut costs.

O.K. since we are talking bout McKenzie here I have a question for you all. And this is not a complaint just wonder if it's happening to anyone else.

How many of you are put on hold a lot more these days then the past? I seem to always be on hold no matter what day of the week or time I call. It's not a big deal but had me wondering so I asked about it. Was told it was due to the flu. This was several weeks ago. And I'm still being put on hold a lot.

Maybe some beancounter has decided to cut the number of operators or something? Wouldn't surprise me as cost cutting is common among corps to increase the profit margin. Somethings they take it too far and have the reverse effect by turning customers to their competitors.

    ???

UPS left my packages out in the open to be rained and snowed on all the time. The FedEx delivery people put it on the porch or someplace else safe. If I can't get it USPS, I only use FedEx when possible. The USPS also puts the packages on the porch, and in plastic bags if the weather requires it.

But in UPS' defense, the company has the drivers under such a tight constraint they don't have time fart much less make sure a package is in a secure place from theft or weather.

I think the bottom line on shipping is use the company that works best for you. It seems like different areas of the country have better results with one over the other 3. In my area they all seem pretty reliable. This winter our UPS guy couldn’t get up the driveway due to the snow so he walked over a 1/2 mile to put the 40# package on our doorstep. Talk about going above and beyond. Now the FedEx guys drive 4wd vehicles during the winter around here so they can make to the door usually. USPS packages never fit in the standard mail box so I have to pick them up at the PO which is fine. The only downside to this is our PO is open 730-230 daily.

I always ask McKenzie and other taxidermy supply companies to ship the cheapest way possible, that I am not in a hurry. Both FEDEX, UPS and USPS bring it to my door and ring the door bell. I always thank them and they are always nice.

There are some things I prefer to order from McKenzie (have y'all looked at taxidermy supplies in Canada????). They get to shipping fast, and while I always cringe at the shipping COST, I have never had badly packed package. UPS is okayish, I will either have them ship to my day job so I can personally receive the box, or if it is smaller will have it sent to the local post office where I can pick it up Saturday mornings during the 2 hour time they are open. My neighborhood has a lot of kids, teenagers, drunks and stoners, I don't trust ANYTHING left outside there!

I have never had to call them for anything, but now that y'all are mentioning those girls with sexy southern accents I just might have to call them.......

Wow, my local one is 0900-1700 Mon-Fri, and 1015-1200 on Saturday. My day job is out of town so I can never make it to the PO during open hours EXCEPT on Saturdays :)

I live in a town of 300 people so there isn’t much for them to do. We only have one mail delivery driver and the postmaster that runs the building. Luckily we got to keep our P.O. a few years ago they were going to shut it down. The next closest one is 20 miles away.

They have screwed up my last 2 orders so I have been using research as much as possible. Mckenzie has got so big and it seems difficult to get things resolved when there is trouble do we wont be using them as much these days. Its a shame been using them since the 80's and use to be happy

I live near Research in Oregon. I drove down there on a Friday and when I got home 1 hr away, I realized that they gave me the wrong mule deer form. I called them and they said they would send one out and that I could bring the other form back the next time I drove down there with no time limit. One week or one year, didn't matter. The new form was sitting on my back porch on Saturday morning when I got up less than 24hrs from purchase. I don't know if they sent it over night UPS or just drove it up themselves.

    That is customer service!

Ever since they have built the Beloit branch I have never once had a problem with shipping from Mckenzie. Order by 10 am and I have my items by 1 PM the following day. I ordered supplies from them a few weeks ago before 10. One of the items was a oak elk pedestal which was too big with the pallet. My dad decided to drive down to Beloit to pick it up. Also ordered some items from TASCO since their close. I had the rest of the order delivered from Speedee before he even arrived at either place. Now thats fast shipping.
