How has the for sale section been doing?

Ive purposely left the for sale section alone without any moderating, to see how it would go. Ive spoke to Ken about a few changes we both feel would help. But ahead of that I wanted to see how folks would do without my moderating and rules enforcement. Aside from the obvious where sellers are not responding privately, whats everyones thoughts on things lately? Its ok to post in this thread.

As far as I know Bill , everything is going as normal.
I for one have no complaints with the exception that we can only post about 20 pics in a single post, but other than that it's business as normal.

One thing I have noticed, not just in the sale section but throughout, is something went weird with the photos about a week ago. I have been going over my old posts and correcting pictures lost to Photobucket. The replaced pictures had been working fine. All of a sudden, they are just red X's. When I replace the picture again, they seem to be working but the old X's in red are still there. When I click on Edit, nothing is visible to account for the red X's in the post. I can not change them or delete them. Signature at the bottom here will show this as well as the first sticky post in the Skulls and Skeletons section. .. Unless I am the only one seeing red X's.

the old pm message list was more organized and easier to keep track of replies the conversation deal is just not very efficient and harder to keep resonses in order as to order of replies if you had a way to [allow responses to posts without bumping them to the top ]it would keep posts in order and allow poster to find thier post and monitor responses

I agree with your statements, Byrdman. It has been a struggle for me and photobutt did not help any. But, I have learned to adapt and use emails and texts to send pics to folks who really are interested. Best thing about the new site is, the newbies, plushies, and lightweights who want to kick tires have disappeared.

I will never post pics on this super forum again but all buyers know they can get a pic in a jiffy if they email or text me.

Like all technology changes that the starving spoiled consumer want to buy with money don't have, the darn Iphones are a hoot! But, without them, I would def not be messing around with the fur business.

Hold on to your seat! Iphones will be a joke in a few years!
Bottom line; This forum rocks and lots of serious buyers and sellers depend on it for their livelihood! Moderators rock! WE appreciate you!

  6. For me i have just about quit using it due to the fact that there seems to be less items to pic from due to fewer people selling since the change and also most sellers don’t post pics of their items as in past either due to hassle of posting them or whatever reason. Most just say text or email for pics but I am not going to be texting or emailing a dozen different people just for pics. To time consuming.

Same reason I quit going to the current events forum see an interesting subject then you have to click on a link to read it just laziness if you post a topic then post the topic dont make folks click to another site

Every once in awhile you make a sale but usually just stupid questions and low ball offers. I for one don't see why a person selling something can't POST A PICTURE are we that lazy/dumb ? Who wants to wait and wait only to waste time, post a picture why make potential customers wait.

I could utilize the for sale section a whole lot better if the sellers were required to state their location.

To beat a dead horse: Yes give contact info, and please have pictures.

I'm able to post pictures from my laptop directly without having to use a third-party site like photobucket. I don't see what is difficult about posting pictures. This picture is from MY PICTURES file my laptop:

I think that its doing well. I have sold a few mounts across the pond, not sure if through here or not, but mounts I sell on eBay get more hits when I post the links here :)

not the forums fault, but the place has been invaded by flakes. couldn`t count the ck is in the mail and nothing ever shows. or tire kickers waste your time with 10-15 pm back and forth needing pictures, etc., then last pm is if I get some $ I`ll buy it. that type kid stuff.

My favorite.....They post they have this or that. You email/call/PM/Conversation them and no return response WTF. Are you selling something or just bragging that you have it.

I feel your pain. I finally decided to call it quits on moderating. No cooperation.

Your new site is very unfriendly like the old one. Could look and delete post much easier posting is a nightmare go back to easy so us old people don't have to go back to school to use this

    Hi Bill,

The for sale section has made it possible to get to know taxidermists all over the country to help them through my services. It has definitely helped my business.

    Thumbs up!
