I'm certain I'm the only person here or maybe in the world that is spending their Sunday casting the carcass of a house cat. I have always turned pets down or threw a price out there that they all decided against it. Well guess what, a guy that wouldn't take no for an answer and would pay whatever it cost to have his kitty mounted sleeping on it's side called my number, and here I am today working on it. I decided to cast it but also have tracings and measurements as well as the carcass to carve a form if the casting doesn't work out to my liking. I have never attempted wrapping my own forms so I wasn't going to start on this one.
Let me say this about fleshing them, I wish all mammals fleshed that easy on a beam.

That’s why I carve! I hate casting. If you need any help while carving, feel free to contact me. I’d be glad to help

Thank you Amy, If I do need any help I will reach out to you. I carve fish forms but typically order mammal forms and alter them to what I need but I'm sure one doesn't exist for a big fat overfed house cat.

That’s true! You’d have more hassle in trying to alter a bobcat form than carving from scratch

Nice job Amy. This one will be a similar pose but with it's head resting on the front legs and eyes closed.

I have zero input on this, but I sure hope you post some process pictures! Sounds like an adventure :)

Sorry Megan, I suck at taking pictures and then posting them. I always intend to but just get into things and never give it any more thought, until it's too late.
