Weasel ID

Discussion in 'Lifesize Mammals' started by jon_wilhelm, Jun 21, 2018.

  1. Hey there,

I’m more of a bird guy, so I apologize if I’m missing something obvious. I’m trying to figure out what type of weasel I have here. I did some research and think it’s either short-tailed or long-tailed. Any input would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Trapper2016 Thanks for this awesome forum!

I have worked on numerous long tailed weasels that looked like that. I could be wrong but i think thats a long tailed weasel.

    Have a good weekend

tail is way too short to be a longtail your tail is 3-1/2 inches long body is 8 inches long.... a longtail has a tail that is over half the length of the body so it would be at least 5-6 inches if not longer trapper 2016 if you worked on a lot of weasels that looked like that then you didnt work on any longs
