Going to mount my first set of replica antlers on a shoulder mount. Any tips from others that have done it? Anything I should be aware of that is different than doing a regular shoulder mount? Thanks in advance,Steve

Where have you been hiding? I've treated them pretty much the same as real skull plates, minus the bondo in the brain cavity. I did ruff up around the bur with a rougher and then put pro1 around the bur, as I typically do. They had solid skull blocks. Everything else was the same, make sure they are where the cape needs them to be.

Hey 3bears! Just been extremely busy! Thanks for the input. Didn’t think there was much difference but didn’t want any surprises:) Hope all is well on your end.

You're welcome. Yep, all's well here.

  5. I have only done a few but I had to keep reminding myself not to grab the rack to move the mount around on my mounting stand. Not sure how strong that material is and didn't want to snap the rack in two. And yeah - its about time you were back on here! lol

Good point Bruce, I was concerned about that as well, luckily they didn't snap, that would suck.

If they don't come with metal rods through the skull cap up into each antler, then install them before mounting. Otherwise they can break off.
