Ups vs Fedex

    I heard last night a difference between the two delivery companies. Ups owns their trucks and does all the upkeep to keep them running. Fedex doesn't own theirs . They use contract drivers that bid on routes and repair their own trucks. This may be part of the reason the shipping charges are so different. Makes sence here because half the Fedex trucks don't
    have mufflers and look like there ready for junkyard.

    Ups are teamsters there union has more money.

    Companies that rent equipment can be more competitive than those that own all that hardware they have to pay for and maintain. My oldest son is a project manager for a directional drilling company that once owned tens of millions in equipment. Today they rent everything, and can bid jobs way more competitively.

    you really cant beat the prices and personal service of the USPS.... at least here...fed ex delivers from the hub here deliver to the local usps for home/shop delivery.... speedee are terrible handlers and the ups drivers just suk all around drive over shrubs leave boxes in the rain
