So after salting my cape and getting it ready to pickle, I noticed that has shrunk considerable in the neck to the point that I know it wouldn’t fit on that buck the same. My experience with tanning has been mainly for rugs, wall pieces or bags so I didn’t really care. I wanted to try to mount this one so I am a little more concerned. Will this stretch back out or am I just stuck with a tanned cape? Thank you!

Rehydrate and stretch it some prior to the pickle, pickle it shave it, tan it. Stretch it throughout the process.

You're welcome. I do this and always get my capes back to original size and often bigger.

Can you stretch it while it’s in the pickle if it’s only out for a minute or two at a time?

Sure, but I make sure that capes are well rehydrated prior to going into the pickle.
