having trouble getting the ear cartilages on a cape to rehydrate - not getting soft at all - have had the ears only soaking for 6 hours and no difference - the cape is not that old - any ideas or thoughts appreciated. thanks

Do you know who the tannery is? I would ask them for re-hydrating instructions.
    If not:
I have on occasion had to wrap the inside-out ears with a wet towel and then in a plastic bag and in the refrigerator overnight to sweat. Sometimes I have had to repeat again for a second night. The noses get rock hard too!
Make sure you are adding salt to the soak water and then let it drain before bagging it for the fridge.
