    Calling all Canadians!

I am a member of the Canadian Taxidermists Association and I am inviting all those who are able to attend and participate in our annual convention and competition at the Toronto Sportsmen's Show this March 13th-17th at the International Centre in Mississauga.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, the CTA is a vast group of taxidermists with members of all skill levels. There are numerous mentorship opportunities as well as connections to suppliers, tanneries and championship competitors. Our conference offers public demonstrations but also private seminars as well as annual group workshops. We are a not-for-profit organisation.

Separate divisions in competition allow taxidermists of all different skill levels to compete for ribbons, trophies, cash and awards. Each entry is critiqued by world level judges and reviewed personally with you in one-on-one sessions. All mounts are proudly displayed in a CTA exhibit at the Toronto Sportsmen's show. Novices receive valuable feedback to bring their work to the next level while long-term taxidermist gain credentials for their businesses while gaining exposure. Throughout the show, members hold seminars in rooms and offer demonstrations in our booth. We stand both for promotion of our field, as well as the sharing of our members knowledge with other Taxidermists.

In the competition, your primary competitor is yourself. You are graded, with feedback from judges on areas for improvement (judges also put on seminars for members to attend during the show). A larger, overall competition occurs at our annual banquet following the show on Saturday evening.

Membership fees are $65 for the year, which includes access to member workshops and 2 magazines, as well as access to our network of taxidermists willing to offer their expertise when needed.

*There are additional fees for entering pieces into our competition, as with any competition. Competition is at the end of the week, early entries are welcome.

All are welcome. For more information, please visit our website: https://www.canadiantaxidermistsassociation.com
