How Cold Is Too Cold For Beetles

    I have maybe 2,500 beetles right now and with this current cold snap I’m afraid they might die. I’m not concerned with them cleaning skulls at the moment since I know they won’t clean below around 60. my main objective is just to make sure they stay alive until it warms a bit or I can add more insulation. Current temps in my beetle tank are around 45 degrees.

    Run an extension cord out to your colony and put a 25 watt light bulb in there. Possibly a higher one to combat the cold.

    I have two ceramic heaters and a heating pad as well as some foam insulation

    Temps got around -50 yesterday so I moved them inside

    My beetles have survived 3 days at -10°c they looked dead but once warmed up they got moving around. I wouldn't recommend that tho, I might have got lucky.
