How soon after a deer dies does the skin coloration start to change/fade? Especially around the eyes, nose and ears? From my observation right after the deer is dead the colors look the same as when alive or close. If the skin doesn't fade immediately after death why not use kill photo's of the deer as reference. In some kill photos the deer will have dark brown around their eyes and yet the taxidermist will spray dark almost black around the eyes. I understand each deer is different some have dark brown/gray hair and some blackish. I'm sure there's a reason you don't hear much about reference photo's of dead deer.
