Adding Length To Reproduction?

Discussion in 'Fish Taxidermy' started by CoonRiver, Feb 17, 2019.

  1. I'm needing a 34" common carp and the closes I can find is 30" has anyone ever lengthened one or any suggestions on doing it?

Lake country has a 32" molded and a 33 that is not molded yet. Have never attempted to lengthen one.

Keep in mind that 30" fish could measure 34" on the backside. Never know. I would avoid trying to lengthen one if you can.

Jimmy I wondered if I was the only one who did that. Had a guy with a 38" stripper. Choices I had were 36 and 44. I ordered the 36 and the customer MEASURED IT. I took the tape around the back side and it was almost 40. Told him that if it hadn't been and "action pose" it would have been dead on hanging straight down. He took it
I learn a valuable lesson, however. If you cant find the repro in the right size, always go up. Never go smaller. No fisherman would ever admit is fish was smaller than the one you got.
