I'm a bird taxidermist forum lurker here mostly, just a part time wannabee. This is my second build on one of these and am going for a little more detail. This build has been interesting and I am down to the wire trying to get the head colors right. Will post the final when it's finished.

Nice, skip the work of the detail carving and painting and throw a skin on the manikin.

It was a compliment, you are doing a good job. I like it. I had planned to do the same, carve a foam body and head and throw a skin on it. I already use a stuffer but I used a catalog body and cast the head and used a flexible neck and put the skin over it. Works great but I plan to make more without ordering from supplier.

Gotcha. Was scratching my head a little. May hunt it just to "prove" it but it will likely end up being more of a den queen somewhere. Finished up tonight... unless it looks bad in sunlight and needs tweeking. We are not getting much sun this week.

Finally got a sunny day. QA'd then sealed with a couple matte coats and she is done.

Sorry for the delay. Gorrilla glue. Just enough to wet the area and pressed, it will expand.
