Robert Holshouser of Eagle River, Alaska, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2018. He is pictured here with his 1987 World Championship Master of Masters winning Dall sheep entry "Quick Descent" which was featured on the cover of Breakthrough, issue 16.

I am quite surprised that no one else has written about Robert. I have one of his only bronzes of that lifesize sheep, then he went into sculpturing. His large Alaska moose i believe is the best in the business. He quit hunting, for he felt Alaska could not maintain its game populations, but he loved to fish with his son. Then he started making custom guitars while he did taxidermy work at night for various taxidermists in Anchorage. I have used his bear noses for the past 35 yrs. I have not taked with him for several years and i am still shocked about his passing. God bless.
