blkbearklr Yep I am retired living off my sugar mama!!!

So going to be doing my first alligator, is it easy to tan myself or simply send it to my tannery? I do not have a flesher anymore I sold that when I decided to use a tannery. Thank You to all who reply.

I would send it to a tannery that knows how to handle them. You would not be able to flesh them with a traditional flesher. The tannery I take them to uses one of those chainsaw grinding wheels on the back. Fleshing them after they are skinned, I used a power washer on the last two. It worked unbelievably well.
I hope you realize how much work you are in for. From cleaning the head to fitting the forms they will fight you all the way.
    Good luck.
