I have an Audoud to mount and have never mounted one. I have a full-time taxidermy shop but have never mounted an Audoud. It is my personal animal. I did a dorsel cut in the field. I put it on ice until the next day. Then I split and turned the head and rough fleshed the hide. I put hide in freezer because I'm not sure about how to turn the hooves. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to turn the hooves.
Not only on how to turn the hooves but any other life-size audoud advice would be great.
    1. Is krowtan ok for Audoud?
    2. How to get the hooves back together?
    3. Is it better to boil the horns off or rot off?
    4. How much stretch to expect?
    5. Is there a good DVD on life-size Audoud?
    6. Foam or clay on rebuilding the genital area?

    1. Krowtann can work, (I use it a lot) but for a life-size Aoudad I would definitely send it out and have it tanned.
    2. I leave hooves attached to the skin, just skin them out making an incision through the soft part of the bottom of the hoof.
    3. I would boil the horns off.
    4. This is the reason to send it out to a tanner. It’s the best way to assure a quality tan with good stretch.
    5. Don’t know of any DVDs - check supplier catalogs or YouTube.
    6. I use clay rebuilding genitals.

Audoud went into the krowtan today.
    Hopefully it turns out well.
