I mounted a couple ducks several month ago but never got around to painting them. The past weekend I got out the airbrush and tried to paint these mallards. It is like the paint doesn't want to stick. Very hard to get it to cover the bills and feet. Never had that problem before. I don't think it is the paint. I tried Lifetone both lacquer and water based as well as Woods and Water. Same issue with all of them. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on what is going on?

Real or fake? I would wash with acetone and let dry. then try again.

It's the real head. I will try the acetone and see if that works. Thanks for the advice.

I also always cleaned as 3bears said then sealed them, paint, then a matt finish
