After 21 army years I gave the steel industry a go for 10. Good money, but too much stress. Enjoy your retirement.

Best day in my life was Sept. 16, 2016. Now I am a full-time taxidermist on a part-time weekly schedule.

left work 2-19-15, had my right hip resurfaced at the Cleveland clinic the next day. used all my sick time and retired may 20, 2015

the part that really irritated the Warden ( i worked in a prison for 33 years) was that i also switched shifts. i was on first shift with weekends off. i switched shifts to give a younger guy the premium shift and best days off.

i went to second shift with tuesday, wednesdays off, and a 50 cent an hour shift differential :)

that should not have been a surprise, everyone knew i was going to retire and not come back....still angry about it today...

Congratulations! I retired from my "real job" on May 18, 2005. There hasn't been a spare moment since. You will soon wonder how in the heck you had time to work. Hope you have a long and wonderful retirement!

Retired a couple months ago myself. No more clocks, can do what I want when I want (for the most part anyways).
