  8. Not from this week but a few weeks back, had to share this big beautiful brown bear I had the pleasure of mounting all by myself! So much sewing!

Don't get many of these but are fun to mount and not really the easiest to do either 20190819_202320.jpg

LordRusty If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

North American River Otter. The only Otter taken in Greene County, Ohio. CITES Tag # OHR0000001! They're not brought in very often, and this was from a returning client, a good client, in fact.
Here are the videos I made of how this mount was created ...

I took the Otter outdoors for a set of photos ...

These are some of the finished mount photos, on his base ...
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
The bare block seen at the bottom, is where the wooden shield will attach for hanging on a wall ...
    [IMG] [IMG]
    Otters always look ... 'HAPPY!'
    [IMG] [IMG]
This neat little Bluegill baitfish, is from Don Frank, and sold through WASCO/McKenzie, is a perfect fit for the small base used here.
The cattails bunch are from WASCO/McKenzie/Jonas/Vandyke's, and are a great little splash of color on an otherwise brown mount and groundwork.
    [IMG] [IMG]
Just one of several photos I took of myself with the Otter.

The completely completed mount ... with felted bottom, and upright wood panel attached to the back. Ready to hang on the wall!

Yes, the scars on the top of his face and head are still there, but they're natural, and part of his life story.
