Somebody gave me an unopened 5 gallon can of this Nobloch liquid tan and they said it was about 12 years old. It has never been opened at all and the lid is still sealed. Of course, the vendor says to discard. Anybody tried using something this old? Any idea of the shelf life in reality?

Look not being a pain but there’s a reason the vendor said dump it.
Age will destroy some of the tanning chemicals in the product. Be safe and don’t use something that you might regret using it on.
Most products that are not powder will be or have issues from 6-12 months time if opened others not opened may have 2 but there’s always an expiration even unopened.

I always got rid of any unused Liqua-tan after a year.

Frank is dead on . I had tanning chemicals stored in a large coleman cooler in a old mobile home we use for storage. It was in there over three years and 95% had to be dumped. A bottle of Krowtan for example had absolutely no odor to it when opened.
